How a Design Proposal Brings Light and Dynamism to a Home: This is a very personal home with one bedroom and interconnected spaces. The kitchen, open to the living room, and the bedroom, separated by a large sliding door, allow the home to be configured as a single space when desired. The development of a spatial volume allows for the distribution of functions and visual connections between spaces, creating varied perspectives for its users.
Everything is interconnected, everything speaks the same language, everything is unified in a harmonious design.
The natural wood and vegetation that invades the terrace: This home is a completely natural space. Its white walls and neutral backgrounds highlight the colorful objects that reflect the personality of its owner: a young person with a passion for cooking, a passion that leads to the kitchen being shared with the living room. For nighttime lighting, indirect and pinpoint light was chosen, creating cozy and comfortable corners. Regarding the kitchen, the space was optimized by designing every nook and cranny, ensuring that functionality does not compromise the living room’s aesthetics. The boundaries between the living room and kitchen are blurred, and the only free wall is covered with magnetic chalkboard paint, giving it both functionality and character. Hidden in the interior courtyard, there is a garden towards which the house is oriented, a feature that sets it apart from others. With these premises, the project idea became about emptying the entire interior to maximize light and VEGETATION, leaving all spaces open and connected through sliding doors. The materials are left completely exposed in their most natural form, showcasing wood, stone, and ceramics in their purest versions.
The pieces of furniture were carefully chosen to respect the materials that compose the architecture, highlighting only the color of the most unique pieces. In the living room, a low piece of furniture that serves both sides provides a large volume of storage without reducing the habitable space. Additionally, the entryway is not compartmentalized by any partition walls; instead, the change in flooring defines this space. A doormat covers the entire distributor, defining the extent of this area and its character. Following the same criteria as the rest of the home, the execution of each element, whether masonry or carpentry, was reviewed and organized down to the smallest dimensions, with special attention paid to material changes, which were left exposed, ensuring that their lines matched those of the adjacent elements.
